AUTOMATION SYSTEM FOR DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

The treatment plants of drinking water deliver drinking water to the municipalities and cities habitants.

Automation Systems for water treatment plants that involve: direct control of the process, field instrumentation and communication field buses as Profibus, ASi, Modbus, Fieldbus, etc. In general terms, the process consists in acquiring measurements of the plant, such as flows, levels, PH, turbidity, concentration and/or dosage of any specific component (e.g. , chlorine). By means of these measurements, the different process stages like flocculation, sedimentation, filtrate and unloading can be controlled. In order to carry out it, the control system commands pumps, valves, speed variators, etc.

PUMPING AUTOMATION SYSTEM AND CONTROL STRUCTURE.

For water pumping stations, Automatizacion Avanzada S.A. offers a Motors Control Center. These can count on extractible or fixed switches with direct and soft starters. Also, a great variety of instrumentation is offered as they are sensors and switches for: level, pressure, turbidity, pH, residual chlorine, and conductivity.

Also the monitoring of the electrical parameters of the pumping stations and the pumps is realized.

In control structures the possibility of automatic adjustment of proportional valves whether by flow or pressure control is offered. In all the systems the possibility of integration of field industrial protocols is offered, as they are Modbus, Profibus, DeviceNet.

AUTOMATION SYSTEM AND INSTRUMENTATION FOR ELEVATING STATIONS OF WASTE WATERS AND/OR RAINS.

When automating an elevating station of waste waters and/or rain waters a control system is created. This system assures that the waters generated by industrial processes or in domestic processes are evacuated correctly to a rain water storage or treatment plants. The control system of the elevating stations of waste waters and/or rain waters integrates the motors control center, the emergency plants, the level measurement system and all the systems associated in PLCs, SCADA and communications systems, which always assure that the recollected liquids is in an adequate level, allowing to have high efficiency levels.

The elevating stations can be find in two pump types. The first of them it is by means of “endless” screws which require MCC of great capacity, but has the advantage that moves great volumes of water. The second type of elevating stations uses submersible pumps, which are used generally for medium or small flow rates and require MCC of smaller capacity.

In order to assure a greater reliability of the control system, PLC’s with Hot Stand By system are used, this system has the capacity to have a system of redundancy CPUs. When a fault in the main CPU appears the secondary CPU automatically enters to work. Also SCADA systems for the monitoring and data storage of the variables of process of the station are used.
